Wolf in Sheep's Clothing
2021, Acrylic on panel, 50cm x 60cm Published in Emerge Issue 2 'Rat Park', Wolf in Sheep's Clothing coincides with a piece of text, styled as a script of unreliable narration. The script serves as a satirical suggestion, generating engagement between the viewer, artwork and artist. Detailing the impact of an aurally stressful environment upon an individual, the text aims to invoke feelings of panic, anger, disgust, anxiety and frustration. These feelings are in consequence to a hatred of sound evoked by an auditory stimulating environment. Everyday behaviours such as the act of eating porridge with grapefruit expressed in the painting, become all-consuming. Insubstantial behaviours and ordinary surroundings translate as cataclysmic environmental strains. |
